The navigation system in your Cadillac vehicle can plot detailed directions to practically any address or point of interest near you. Still, it does need updating as these points of interest change. Cadillac has made it easy to install these updates, but you'll need to get an update disc and understand how the process works.
Update discs are released periodically, and they can be ordered online from Cadillac or purchased from a Cadillac dealership. Once you have the latest navigation system update disc, start your engine, turn on your navigation system, and press the "Load" button to reveal the disc slot. Insert the disc with the label side up, wait for it to load, and press the "Update" button when it appears. Enter the authentication code that came with your disc and press "Enter" to begin the update. The update takes about three hours and requires the engine to run the entire time, so don't start the process unless you have a full tank of gas and you know you won't be needing your car for the next few hours.
