Specs at a Glance

In 2020, the Cadillac Escalade gets just a few minor changes from the 2019 model year. However, as evidenced by its historical popularity levels, the latest Escalade does not need many changes, if any at all, to keep consumers happy. This year, there are a few modifications to trim-level features and availability. The Cadillac Escalade is offered in an extended-length version called the ESV. The ESV gives the Escalade a longer wheelbase, adding a total of 14 inches, which translates to about 20 inches of additional room inside. With this room, the ESV gets nearly twice as much cargo space and more room for occupants all around, especially in the third row. Two trims worth considering for this 2020 Escalade are the base level of the ESV, which comes with many standard features and plenty of interior space, and the Platinum edition, which is packed full of all the works.

Performance

In 2020, all trim levels of the Cadillac Escalade ESV share the same engine. They are all driven by a powerful V8 engine that has a peak power output of 420 HP and 460 LB-FT of torque. This engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission across the board. The standard drivetrain in the 2020 Escalade is rear-wheel drive, but you can choose to get four-wheel drive with any of the trim levels instead.

Appearance

No matter whether you get the base level trim or the Platinum trim of the ESV, you'll get a vehicle with impressive and striking exterior design. At a minimum, the ESV base level trim stands out with its bold LED headlights. The Platinum gets additional lighting elements in the form of front cornering headlights, which give you even more clarity and visibility when navigating after dark. Both trims are accentuated by tasteful chrome accents. The base trim comes standard with 20-inch wheels as well. The Platinum has wheels of the same size along with a few more exterior accents, including illuminated door handles. This trim also gets power-retractable side steps for comfort and convenience.

Features

Inside, the base trim of the ESV and the Platinum are loaded with features. The base ESV is equipped with an eight-inch infotainment display screen that provides plenty of connectivity and convenience amenities, including seamless smartphone pairing. A Bose sound system with 16 speakers comes standard at the base level. The Premium adds a number of additional features, including plush leather seats and a second infotainment system in the back row. This trim has heated seats in the first two rows, and its front seats are climate-controlled as well. The front seats can also be adjusted in more ways. The front console in this trim features a cooling mechanism to keep food and beverages adequately chilled on your excursions. Both trims offer plenty of safety amenities, including adaptive cruise control and forward collision avoidance. Reverse automatic braking is standard on the Platinum.
