Specs at a Glance

The Cadillac XT5 is a popular luxury midsize SUV. It gets a nod of approval from critics and drivers in many areas, including its considerable legroom and headroom in both rows and its exceptional cargo capacity that's some of the best in the Cadillac's class. In 2021 the Cadillac has some updates that make it more connected than in the past. This year, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are now standard, and they are wireless for additional convenience. There are three trims in the 2021 XT5, including the base level called the Luxury, a mid-level Premium Luxury, and the top trim, which is the Sport. The Luxury trim has plenty of features and considerable value. The Sport adds on some additional amenities from the previous two trims and can be enhanced with an assortment of packages and add-on extras.

The Luxury has one standard engine, while the Sport offers the option of a second, more powerful engine as well. The first engine that powers the Luxury is a turbo 2.0L that uses four cylinders. With this engine, the Luxury is capable of 235 HP, and its top torque reaches 258 LB-FT. The Sport is eligible for another engine as well, which is a 3.6L V6. The V6 engine boosts the SUV's power output to 310 HP, and you'll get over 270 LB-FT of torque. A nine-speed transmission accompanies both engines. The Luxury has standard front-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive is standard on the Sport.

The Luxury and Sport trims have some variations in their style and appearance. LED headlights come with both trim levels. The Luxury has 18-inch wheels with an alloy finish. Automatic windshield wipers come standard with the Sport, which also gets power-folding side mirrors. A hands-free liftgate is an additional convenience. The interior gets some updates in appearance, too, including interior lighting for the cabin. The Sport also upgrades to larger 20-inch wheels, and it gets leather trim accents on the dashboard and doors for a more upscale look.

Heated seats are part of the Luxury's standard amenities package. For technology, you'll get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and four USB ports, including two USB-A. A Wi-Fi hotspot is included on the Luxury as well, and it has an eight-inch screen for its user interface. Wireless charging and leather seats are added to the Sport. It also has navigation and a Bose sound system. Its safety technology includes the Driver Assist safety package with adaptive cruise control and automatic braking.
