Revamp Line-Up
As part of the revamp of its lineup, Cadillac has debuted their newest vehicles the CT4 and the CT5. These all-new sports sedans will be the respective successors of the Cadillac ATS and the CTS. Like their predecessors, both cars will have V-performance variant trims. However, these new trims will have smaller engines and less horsepower than their predecessors. The new vehicles will supplement the horsepower loss through the use of state-of-the-art technology and affordable pricing.
The Impressive CT4-V
The Cadillac CT4-V is the successor to the beloved Cadillac ATS-V. The CT4-V is designed to be an entry-level performance sedan that will compete with the Audi A3 and the Mercedes-Benz A-Class. Cadillac designed the vehicle to attract millennial luxury car buyers through its affordable entry-level luxury car pricing.
The CT4-V utilizes a turbocharged 2.7L Inline-4 engine (the same one that powers the Silverado) that produces 320-horsepower and 369 lb.-ft of torque. The ATS-V's eight-speed transmission is replaced with a new 10-speed automatic transmission that will increase acceleration and efficiency. Rear-wheel drive is standard while all-wheel drive will be available.
The Impressive CT5-V
The CT5-V is the successor to the Cadillac CTS-V that is designed to be a competitor against the Audi S4, BMW M340i, and the Mercedes-AMG C43. A 355-horsepower and 400-lb.-ft of torque 3.0L twin-turbocharged V-6 engine will power the CT5-V. This engine will be paired with a brand-new 10-speed automatic transmission and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential. Further enhancing performance, the CT5-V is equipped with modern technology such as a Magnetic Ride Control suspension system, Brembo four-piston brakes and additional scoops for better cooling.
Both the Cadillac CT4-V and the Cadillac CT5-V will be equipped with Super Cruise Technology. Super Cruise is a self-driving feature that can be used on select highways. This self-driving system allows drivers to take their hands off the wheel as the car will continue to drive on its own. The system makes use of lane-keep technology to ensure that the Cadillac doesn't drift. It also uses the adaptive cruise control to scan for vehicles in front of the car to avoid collisions. The Super Cruise system can be used on over 200,000 miles of highway in the United States and Canada.
Van Cadillac will have the CT4-V and CT5-V in stock after they roll off the assembly line later this year.
